Q) What do you say to people when they try to attack you by saying you don’t act like Jesus or you’re not trying to be like Jesus?
A)
Well, it is often unfortunately very true, that we rarely act like “little Christs”, which is what the word Christian actually means. People forget that we are human too, and even though we are Christians, we can frown, and be sad, and have bad days, and make mistakes. The difference between us and them though is that we are fighting the flesh to look more like Christ all the time, though we will never fully succeed in this lifetime.
At the end of the day, all you can do is your best to keep you’r side of the street clean, and we cant clean up somebody elses side. Though it may help to remind them that say out of 100 people who are looking for an example of Jesus, 99 will look to the Christian, and only 1 will look to the Bible. And it is the Bible, not the Christian, that has the perfect example of Jesus and his teachings while on earth. When you are attacked in such a way, remind the attacker that you are not perfect, and if they want a better example then you will ever be, then they should turn to the Bible.
