Q) Jesus has gone through all emotional suffering that we have but I can’t find anywhere about any sexual temptation. Did he experience that to or is that the one thing that he doesn’t empathize with?
A)
This is a great question. The answer is, yes, Jesus did struggle with sexual temptation and can empathize with us in this way. While the gospel narratives of Jesus’s life do not spend much time talking about the specific sins He was tempted by, we do know that He was tempted in “every way”.
Hebrews 4:15 – For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
Jesus lived a very full life. So full that the gospel writers were unable to fully document all that Jesus said and did. In fact, John the Revelator said at the end of his gospel message in John 21:25 – Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.
So with these scriptures in mind, we can trust that Jesus does in fact understand and empathize with our every temptation. He was not beyond temptation, even though he lived a sinless life.
