Everything you need to know to get started
Registration:
We will need to have each person registered for the event beforehand. Registration should collect the name, email address, phone number, and mailing address. Registrations will need to be sent to us before the event, say 1-3 days, depending on when we schedule the event for. This will help us to ensure that we bring certificates of completion to the event, so that all those in attendance can leave with them.

Materials:
There are some printed materials that we would ask our host to help with. we can email the documents, and we would ask that the host have these printed out, one per registered person, so we can distribute them to each guest at the event. We ask that you also print extra in case some people attend who did not register beforehand. We want to allow for a last-minute walk in, and we will come prepared to register them on the spot.
There are also the QPR booklets which need to be acquired. There are a few ways we can get these to you, and we will need them to be available for distribution at the event, one per person.
These booklets can be either purchased or donated.
For a host who cannot afford the cost of the booklets, they can apply for a grant through a Colorado State organization.

Secondly, our church has some booklets that were donated to us, which we would be willing to donate to your host if your host would be willing to make a financial contribution of whatever amount you see fit to our new church plant.

And for the host who wants to buy the booklets directly from the QPR institute, Pastor CJ can help you place that order. The entire cost goes completely to QPR, and we am just administering it.
The cost is per bundle, and each bundle is 25 booklets. $75 for 1 bundle, $62.50 for 2-20 bundles, and $56.25 for 21 or more bundles. This price does not include shipping.
We can have bundles shipped to you directly, or to us and then we would bring them to your event.
We ask that you acquire some extra booklets for the same reason we ask that you print some extra materials. Just in case we have a last-minute walk in.

Group Size:
QPR training works best when groups are 30-35 or less. The smaller the better, so that the training can work more like a conversation then a class. If your group is going to be larger than this, we would rather schedule multiple training events and split the large group up into multiple smaller groups.
We are happy to come to your site as often as necessary to train anybody who will listen.
A.V.:
For the presentation, we will need to be able to project a slideshow with audio. That could mean that we plug a laptop into a monitor with an HDMI connection, or if you have a house system, weI can use that as long as we are able to use a own remote to move through the slides. If something like what we are describing is just not possible, we can be flexible, but we will need to have a conversation before the event to discuss the details so that I can plan accordingly.
Cost of the instructor:
If your host is willing and able to come up with the cost, that would be terrific. Grace Of The Lord Church is offering scholarships for our first 250 trained Gatekeepers, meaning that our church is providing the cost of the instructor for those who cannot afford it.
Our church does not want cost to be a deterrent for anybody who could consider hosting a training event. So far, our church as sponsored about 85 Gatekeeper sponsorships.
However, your instructor does acquire some costs out of pocket personally. For example, there are travel expenses which vary, administrative expenses for reporting after training events, preparing before training events, and the time your instructor would take off work to come provide your training event, just to name the big costs.
We try to pass along the printed materials burden to our hosts to keep your instructors personal costs lower, but your instructor does still end up doing some unavoidable printing and consuming of office supplies as well.
So, if your host is able to afford the cost of an instructor, you will let our church save the scholarships for an organization that might need them more. If your host can not afford the cost, we will find a way to bring a QPR training to you somehow.
The instructor cost is $15 per person.
If more people register then actually attend, we would not be able to refund that cost, because we will prepare based on registrations. If more people attend then actually register, we will come prepared to register them on site.
Registration fees will be collected at the time of the event in the form of cash, check, or money order. If one desires to pre-pay, funds can be mailed in to Grace Of The Lord Church so long as they are received before the day of the event.
Next Steps:
We know this is a lot of information for you to process and work through. Once you are ready to move forward, then we will schedule a phone call. You will just need to contact us letting me know you are ready, and we will send you a link that you can use to schedule our phone call. That can be a conference call if you need it to be.
During that phone call, we will review everything we just said above to confirm the details and we can answer each other’s questions otherwise.
At the end of that phone call, we will send you another link which you can use to actually schedule the QPR Training event(s), or we might schedule the event(s) while we are on the phone call.
If there is any ingredient in my description above that you are struggling to make work, but you would host an event if it were not for the particular issue, please let us know. We may very well be able to connect us with the ingredient to overcome any challenge. So, if you want a QPR training event, we will get you a QPR training event one way or the other. Please do not desire this, while being silent about an issue that is stopping you from moving forward. We will figure it out, whatever it is.
