Praise and thanksgiving please God very much. We were made to love, adore and worship God. On occasion, we ought to take our entire prayer time to tell God just how much we appreciate all that He is doing for us each and every day.
Psalm 50:23 – Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation.
Our salvation begins with gratitude. When we feel the weight of our sin, and that relief from our deserved condemnation by means of Gods mercy as a result of our faith, we become labeled as blameless.
Psalm 69: 30-31 – I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. This will please the Lord more than an ox, more than a bull with its horns and hooves.
More than religious rituals, God desires our worship and gratitude. Wouldn’t you? If you created someone, and then after faithfully pursuing them even after they cheated on you with sin, you redeemed that person with your own blood, and you would die for them and love them still, wouldn’t you like a thank you once in a while?
Psalm 106:1 – Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.
Why praise Him at all? Because regardless of how we have treated Him, he remains good to us, and is willing to love us for all eternity.
Psalm 107:8 – Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
God will richly bless us, though it may not feel like it sometimes, like during trials and tribulations, God will work all these things for the good of those who love Him.
Philippians 4:6 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
We should not worry, and instead trust that the Lord is in control. He does desire good things for us, and while Satan may attack, God can still manage to work out His plan for us despite of the enemy, or even our own personal failures. So we can justifiably praise him for working out all these things for our best interest eternally. When we are stressed, just take it to the Lord in prayer.
1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18 – 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances;for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
