Is salvation revocable? Can you lose it? – Question from a reader

September 19, 2017 by CJ Counts Leave a Comment

Question – Is salvation revocable? Can you lose it?

Answer – If you have faith in Christ, you can be absolutely secured in your salvation. You can do nothing to loose it, no matter what sin you commit. Your enemies can not take it from you, and you can not fail God so much that he will refuse you. However, you always retain the right to blaspheme, which is unforgivable. If a believer decides to exercise their right not to believe anymore, they can do that. The only thing God will not forgive is unbelief at the time of death. If I am a believer today, but chose not to be when I die, then I am condemned. But no matter what I have done, or what my enemies would like for me to think, if I am a believer at the time of death, I am saved. So I can not lose my salvation, but I can give it away. My sin and my righteousness only determine how closely I fellowship with God, and not how saved I may or may not be.
